For this painting I used Winsor & Newton Artisan Water Mixable Oil Colour.

One of the best things that I have discovered in oil paint lately is the water mixable products produced by different manufacturers. I started with a set of Holbein Water Soluble Oil Colors called DUO Aqua Oil. I love the consistancy and that the drying time is only about 3 days or so for the thickness that I usually lay it on.

Acrylic paint for artists such as Golden Acrylics are a great choice for those wanting to avoid hazardous paint fumes normally found with oils and solvents.

Acrylic artists colors wash up with soap and water and dry very quickly.

I used a pallette knife to paint most of my recent paintings. Talk about economical, it saves so much.

When mixing colors with a brush, every time you clean a brush to switch to another color, a load of pure and valuable paint is washed away in the water. If you use a pallette knife, the unused pigment can be moved to a holding area and the little remaining paint can be quickly cleaned off using a paper towel.
